Reshaping as an act of resisting the forms in which we’ve been expected to exist, as well as the forms in which we’ve been placed in. Reshaping as an act of both emancipation and liberation
How can these materials be re-shaped and how can they be transformed into something else? How can they be used to metaphorise women’s history?
"This project gave us the opportunity to explore eroticism as a source of energy. The rope contains all these layers. It can be used as a self-inflicted punishment or as a tool in abusive practices. It’s also the main element in the practice of Shibari, the technique of rope bondage, a place between art and eros. The rope can provide direction and tension, but it can also bind or support. Through the use of a rope, all those rituals and gestures that push the boundaries between fragility and strength can be explored".
